Missouri State University has hired Alex Hirdler as its Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance. Hirdler begins his duties at MSU on July 1.
He comes to Springfield after spending the last two-plus years as NCAA Compliance Coordinator at Oklahoma State University. His duties in Stillwater included eligibility certification, rules education, roster management, waivers, transfer, and administrative tasks for OSU’s Office of Athletics Compliance.
Originally from Waterloo, Iowa, Hirdler earned bachelor’s degrees in both accounting and recreation and sports business from the University of Iowa in May 2014. He spent the next the two years as a graduate assistant in Iowa’s compliance office, completing a Master’s in leisure and recreational sport management in May 2016.
Hirdler served an internship with the Compliance Services Office at the University of Michigan for much of the 2016-17 academic year before accepting his full-time position at Oklahoma State in March 2017.
His hire is contingent upon final approval by the Missouri State Board of Governors at its next scheduled meeting.
