A Springfield man will spend a year in jail for an incident that resulted in the death of a ten-year-old boy.
Lonnie Yeager pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of driving without a license. Prosecutors dropped all other charges against him.
Yeager reportedly had a seizure behind the wheel of a car in September 2017 when he struck and killed 10-year-old Riddick Tudor outside Campbell Elementary school and injured four others.
Yeager had been found legally incapacitated in 2008 after an assault while he was incarcerated. He was supposed to be living with his mother, who had been appointed his court-appointed guardian, but she was in Farmington, Missouri while he was living in Springfield.
The conviction is the second time Yeager has been convicted on the same charge.
A year in jail is the maximum for the charge.
