The Wellness Department for Springfield Public Schools has received an honor from the Missouri Council for Activity & Nutrition.
The Gold Level Missouri Workplace Wellness Award is given in recognition for the district’s efforts in supporting the wellness and health of their employees.
“We wanted to know how well our wellness program is doing, and we received the top honor for this type of award,” Jeff Rogers, wellness coordinator, said in a statement. “That means we have a lot of great things in place for our employees’ wellness.”
SPS employees receive a fitness center reimbursement, wellness coaching, nurse on call services, MD live and even cash incentives for completing health risk assessments.
“Our wellness approach is multi-disciplinary, and I’m proud of how we support our employees, including the ways we support community efforts for health living, like the American Breast Cancer Foundation, American Heart Association and more,” said Rogers. “We do educational wellness, financial wellness, and provide services for emotional support as well. It’s a total well-being approach in offering those resources to help employees achieve their goals.”
