Drury Reorganizes Athletics Department

Drury University announced reorganization in their athletics department after Vice President and Director of Athletics Corey Bray took full control of the department on June 3.

Bray took the position following the retirement of Mark Fisher.

Bryan Beatty was promoted to a new position: Associate Athletics Director for Internal Affairs. He had served as Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance and Eligibility for the last 11 years. He will oversee department finances, facilities, and concessions, along with other duties.

The department will create the position of Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs. The person hired for the role will handle marketing & promotions, corporate partnerships, fundraising, and supervise media relations & ticket staff operations.

The school will also be hiring a new Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance and Eligibility to replace Beatty.

The school will also add a full-time Athletic Trainer, a new assistant coach for men’s & women’s track and field, and a new assistant coach for men’s & women’s swimming & diving.

“With the addition of two new full-time coaching positions, two new administrative positions, and the implementation of a sport administrator structure, Drury athletics is in a stronger position to serve our student-athletes and our fans,” Bray said in a statement. “Additionally, the implementation of new reporting lines will increase the efficiency and effectiveness of our department. I would like to thank Drury University President Dr. Tim Cloyd and the members of the Position Review Committee for their support of these important initiatives. Drury athletics is positioned to be more than champions – in the classroom, in the community, and in competition!”
