First Friday in downtown Springfield will kick it up a notch starting tonight when the newly renamed “Tumble on the Square” concert series launches with performances from three local artists.
Lovebomb, Symphony Ree and Mood Ring Circus will play starting at 6 p.m. on the downtown square for the event that had been called “First Fridays at Park Central Square.” The renamed event will take place every first Friday of the month through October.
“This event has become one of my favorites over the years,” organizer Brett Johnston told OI. “An opportunity to celebrate community and music, arts and local business; where everybody is welcome.”
In addition to the music, there will be food vendors and other local businesses participating in the festivities.
The event is being called “family friendly” and is free. The downtown square will be closed off Friday just after 5 p.m. to allow vendors to get booths and other items set up. The concert is expected to end around 10 p.m..
