Ozarks Technical Community College students will now have another option for easily transferring to a bachelor degree program.
OTC announced a partnership with Southwest Baptist University that will students to seamlessly transfer to the Bolivar university in an agreement signed Thursday.
“Southwest Missouri is fortunate to have an abundance of higher education opportunities for students,” Dr. Hal Higdon, OTC Chancellor, said in a statement. “Many of our students have transferred to SBU in the past to pursue bachelor’s degrees. By formalizing the relationship, we are making it a smooth transition for our students, and they can be confident that their credits will transfer.”
OTC said that SBU is one of the top transfer locations for their students and the agreement will make it significantly easier for those students to continue their education.
“We know that nationally a little more than a third of all undergraduates are enrolled at community colleges, and, locally, OTC is home to thousands of students,” SBU head Dr. Eric Turner said in a statement. “We hope that many of them become Bearcats, and we’re going to make sure it an easy transition for them.”
The transfers will be done for students in Associate of Arts programs at OTC:
• Behavioral Science
• Criminal Justice
• General Education
• Social Work
