Sertoma Chili Cook-Off Raises Big Bucks for Boys & Girls Clubs

The Sertoma Club announced they will be giving a six-figure check to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Springfield as a result of the 2019 Sertoma Chili Cook-Off.

The Cook-Off Committee will be presenting a check for just under $124,200 to the Boys & Girls Clubs at the Springfield Cardinals game at Hammons Field on Tuesday, June 11th.

“We are so grateful for the continued support of the area Sertoma Clubs,” Boys & Girls Clubs CEO Brandy Harris said. “The Chili Cook-Off allows us annually to provide safe, quality, life-impacting programs to our youth.”

The check presentation by the group is part of “Boys & Girls Club Night” with the Springfield Cardinals, where over 100 club members will be attending the game thanks to the Heart of the Ozarks Sertoma Club.

The funds raised will support a new music recording studio at the BGCS Henderson Unit, the Club’s mental health programs, and a teen job training program.

It also funds vehicle and technology improvements, building repairs, a basketball league, and more.

The 39th Annual Sertoma Chili Cook-Off has been scheduled for February 22, 2020.
