Evangel Softball senior Michelle Sheppard was named First Team National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region on Monday as announced by the organization.
Sheppard, a native of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, finished her career with the Crusaders as the all-time stolen base leader and the single-season stolen base leader. She set the single-season record as a junior and broke it again during her senior season with 53 stolen bases, third-most in NAIA this season and seventh most nationally at every level of collegiate softball.
A First Team All-Heart of America pick and a Heart Gold Glove selection as a utility player, she led Evangel with 60 hits, 44 runs scored, and a .420 batting average. Sheppard is the first NFCA First Team All-Region selection since Kiara Carrier was named First Team in 2017.
