A Springfield organization that hopes to reduce domestic and other forms of violence in the community is hosting an event Wednesday to help residents learn how they can intervene if they see violence taking place.
Community Green Dot will host Bystander Intervention Training from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Radiology Classroom on the second floor of Mercy Hospital on East Cherokee Street.
Registration to attend the event is free.
The training will include instruction on what someone can do when they see or discern that violence is taking place and ways that they can safely intervene to help someone being victimized by an abuser.
