If you really love to sink into the blues, then you need to mark Sunday afternoon on your calendar.
The Blues Society of the Ozarks is hosting its annual Blues Competition Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Shuffle on South Campbell. Seven performers will be judged according to the International Blues Challenge rules, with the winner representing the region at the 2020 International Blues Challenge in Memphis.
The event is also a monthly social for the Blues Society of the Ozarks and those interested in knowing more about the organization and their events & outreach in the community.
The event will also have a raffle for a guitar and a silent auction, with the proceeds from both benefiting the Blues in the Schools program, where members of BSO teach children how to play an instrument and to perform a simple blues composition.
The event is restricted to adults 21 years of age or older.
