Barry won this year’s national championship and was ranked number one in the final poll while Columbus State was second, and South Carolina-Aiken, the team that defeated the Panthers in the third round of the national tournament, was ranked third. One other team from the Great Lakes Valley Conference ended the year in the top 25 as the University of Indianapolis was ranked 19th.
The Panthers were in the NCAA-II tournament for the 22nd year in a row, and Drury advanced to the round of 16 for the fifth time in the last six seasons. Their 6-0 record in the GLVC West Division marked their 13th consecutive undefeated season in league play as Drury has gone 83-0 since joining the conference in 2006. All 11 members of their roster are expected to return in 2020.
