80s Dance Party to Benefit Springfield Symphony

The Springfield Symphony is breaking out the jelly bracelets, Aqua Net and checkered Vans sneakers Saturday night for their biggest fundraising event of the year, Walk Like A Musician: An 80s Dance Party.

The event is the largest fundraiser of the season for the Springfield Symphony, which just wrapped up its most recent season with a concert that celebrated the music of the Star Wars movie series.

In addition to a night of 80s references, food and live music, a silent auction will be taking place for a number of gift packages ranging from the “Treat Yourself Package” (nails, facial and coffee) to the “Local Family Outing Package” with passes to Discovery Center, Itty Bitty City, Dickerson Park Zoo and the buffet at Godfather’s Pizza.

There will also be a live auction that includes a five night all-inclusive trip for two adults to Cabo San Lucas or your choice of Punta Cana, Jamaica or Riveria Maya.

There are two levels of tickets: General Admission $125 tickets get you the meal, drinks and into the performance of Jeans N’ Classics: The Amazing 80s. You can also purchase a $45 performance only ticket to see the Jeans N’ Classics show.

The event gets underway Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at the Oasis Hotel and Convention Center. Tickets and more information available from the Symphony’s Facebook page.

All proceeds benefit the Springfield Symphony.
