Long Honors Ozark Student for Winning Congressional Art Competition

Congressman Billy Long has honored an Ozark High School student for winning this year’s Congressional Art Competition.

Skylar Schafer’s winning entry is a watercolor painting entitled “Missouri Barn.” Schafer will have her art displayed in the Capitol building for a year and will attend a Washington D.C. ceremony unveiling her work.

“Each year I look forward to seeing the talented artwork students in our district submit and this year is no different,” Rep. Long said in a statement. “I want to thank each student who participated and congratulate them on their excellent work. These students never make it easy for our judges.”

Nixa’s Maria Biondo took second place with her pencil artwork called “Blank Slate.” Clever’s Colon Wenger was in third place.

This was the 38th year of the Congressional Art Competition.
