Evangel University’s self-titled magazine has won three awards at the national Evangelical Press Association’s conference.
The redesigned Evangel magazine won Best Christian University Magazine, Best Publication Redesign and Most Improved publication.
“Evangel magazine represents our collective story as a university,” Dr. Carol A. Taylor, Evangel University president said in a statement. “Our students and alumni do incredible work here and around the world, and it’s thrilling to see their stories told well to the world in the magazine. We are grateful to the Evangelical Press Association for recognizing these stories.”
The redesign of the magazine was designed to combine two previous alumni publications (Vision, Evangel’s magazine and Rapport, the magazine of the Assembly of God Theological Seminary) while reporting on alumni from Evangel, AGTS and Central Bible College, whose operations were melded into Evangel in 2013.
“The story of Evangel, AGTS, and the legacy of Central Bible College is one of good news,” Executive Editor Matt Hufman said in a statement. “It’s not a hard story to tell. There are alumni who came to Springfield for their education and now are literally changing the world both here and across the globe.”
