Cooper Tennis Complex to Undergo Major Renovation

The Cooper Tennis Complex is going to undergo the biggest interior renovations since the complex opened in 1994.

The north wing of the building that includes Courts 1 through 6 will be closed for a month starting in June. The renovation is taking place when many of the youth and adult tennis programs are operating outdoors at the Cooper complex or at Gillenwaters Tennis Complex & Perry Tennis Courts.

The improvements at the Complex include the replacement of lights with LED fixtures; resurfacing and color-coating the tennis courts; resurfacing of the interior vinyl wall and ceiling coverage; new nets and posts; replacements of court divider curtains; and painting of the facility.

The project is budgeted at $500,000 with the majority of the funding coming from the Cooper Family Foundation.
