A teenager is fighting for their life after an accident involving a bicycle and a car Monday night.
Springfield Police say that the teenager was riding on south on Missouri Avenue when they entered the intersection at Portland Street and entered the path of a 2006 Toyota Camry.
The 16-year-old boy was transported to a local hospital with what has been called “life threatening injuries”. The next of kin for the boy has been notified and are at the hospital.
Police say the driver of the Camry is not believed to have been impaired in any way and the investigation is ongoing.
