The Springfield Cardinals (12-20) closed out their first road series win with a resounding 9-2 victory against the Frisco RoughRiders (18-14) on Tuesday night at Dr Pepper Ballpark. Coming home on a three-game winning streak, the Cardinals wrapped up the Texas trip going 4-3.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED:
-For the second straight game, the Cardinals jumped ahead in the 1st inning, this time with an RBI groundout from 3B Evan Mendoza and a two-out RBI single by LF Conner Capel, opening a 2-0 lead.
-Capel struck again in the 3rd when he launched a three-run blast to right field, making it 5-0.
-Frisco got their only two runs against LHP Evan Kruczynski with a two-run double from CF Franklin Rollin in the 3rd, shaving the deficit to 5-2.
-The Cardinals dealt the final blow with a four-run rally in the 6th, featuring a three-run triple from 2B Irving Lopez and an RBI sac fly by SS Kramer Robertson to make it 9-2.
-OF Conner Capel’s three-hit, four-RBI day continued a powerful last eight games, during which he has four home runs and eight RBIs.
-3B Evan Mendoza extended his current hitting streak to nine games with a base hit in the third.
-CF Dylan Carlson went 3×5 with three singles and two runs.
-LHP Evan Kruczynski made two starts on the road trip, combining to toss 11.0 innings with only two earned runs on eight hits and one walk, while striking out eight across the two outings.
