A new delivery and ride service for Springfield is launching Friday and unlike Uber or Lyft, this one has a customer service office in downtown Springfield.
The service, carGO, will offer delivery of food from over 80 restaurants, provide ride and delivery services and even bring alcohol to your door through their app. The app will be live before lunchtime on Friday.
“We are confident that once people try carGO, they will understand what sets us apart from similar services,” Dave Coble, President of carGO, said in a statement. “Our select restaurant partners, local customer service staff and driver teams are passionate about quality every step of the way. We guarantee satisfaction both with delivery and ride services.”
Coble told OI that the company is focusing on quality drivers and limiting the number of drivers so that they find carGO the best option. Current drivers of Uber and Lyft frequently complain on social media about too many drivers being hired, resulting in drivers not making enough money and it resulting in a drop of quality among the drivers.
The company features a local operations center and customer support office, so local residents have a local person to talk to if there is any issue with carGO’s services. The office is located in the Wilhoit Plaza on East Pershing Street next to 417 Taphouse.
Some of Springfield’s best restaurants are coming on board with the app at launch such as Nicola’s, Great American Taco, Black Sheep, 5Spice and Bair’s.
Springfield users can even use the app free for 30 days by using the code “springfield” which will waive all delivery fees.
In additional to having been a sponsor of the Springfield Prom, carGO is the official transportation provider for the Springfield Cardinals.
“The big boys don’t care about Springfield,” Coble said. “We do.”
The app can be downloaded for iPhone or Android:
