The Bass Pro Legends of Golf has been taking place this week at Top of the Rock south of Branson. The PGA Champions Tour event also includes celebrity pro-am events.
The celebrity competition included Justin Timberlake, Mark Wahlberg, Larry the Cable Guy, Kid Rock and more.
The rounds by the celebrities ended up being rather eventful when Kid Rock shanked a chip shot and knocked the drink out of a woman’s hand. Larry the Cable Guy quipped to reporters that Kid Rock thought he lady may have been an alcoholic, and was helping her by knocking the drink from her hand.
“I said thank you for stopping my mother-in-law from drinking,” Larry said.
Larry kept cracking jokes with the media.
“I think I was the only guy to be on the Golf Channel and Court TV on the same day,” he said when asked about winning last year’s celebrity event.
And when asked what it’s like to come back to Top of the Rock to play?
“I’ll be honest, Johnny needs to put some money in this place. I mean, it’s really gone downhill,” Larry said.
Larry did turn a little serious when he said the par 3 course was the most beautiful in the country, although he ended it by saying it would have been perfect “had Jim Stafford come out and played with me.”
Saturday also featured Family Fun events including internet phenomenons Dude Perfect who performed for the families in attendance.
The event is a fundraiser for non-profit organizations in the region. This year, proceeds benefit College of the Ozarks and the Wonders of Wildlife National Museum & Aquarium. This year, the event also included the dedication of the Global War on Terrorism Memorial in Patriots Park on the College of the Ozarks Campus.
In the PGA Champions event, Tom Pernice Jr. and Scott Hoch lead heading into Sunday.
