Ozark Junior High Track’s Oldest Record Falls

An Ozark 7th grader has broken Ozark Junior High’s oldest record.

Tamyra Nevills broke a 32-year-old record for girls discus on Monday. Her throw of 91 feet, 1 inch topped the 1987 record held by Charmyn Wisecup of 89 feet.

“As soon as it hit I knew it had a chance,” Coach Chad Fergerson told OI. “When they called out the distance, I was so excited. Like all my throwers, Tamyra has worked hard this season to be the best she can be. I’m extremely proud of her accomplishment. Hard work pays off!”
