A Springfield man will almost certainly spend the rest of his life behind bars after being sentenced for recording his sexual abuse of a child.
George Ralph Pollock, 77, was sentenced by a federal judge to 30 years in federal prison without parole.
Pollock pleaded guilty to sexual exploitation of a child. He admitted abusing a girl starting at age 12 and ending at 17, and trading videos of her via email and text since she was 15-years-old.
Pollock’s actions were discovered in August 2016 when a tip was provided to police by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that he had tried to upload and email child pornography. Police executed a search warrant at Pollock’s residence and found multiple images of child pornography.
The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations, the Southwest Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force and the Greene County Sheriff’s Office as part of Project Safe Childhood.
