Four seniors at Nixa High School have been named National Merit Finalists.
Raegan Allen, Shelby Berry, Emma Roesler and Arianna Swensen are among the top 15,000 students in the United states.
Over 1.5 million students every year are considered for the National Merit Scholarship Program that began in 1955. The students begin the path for the scholarship by taking the preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying contest and then move into evaluations based on areas like academic records, test stores, written recommendations, student’s activities and written essays from the finalists.
The students were honored at Thursday night’s Nixa school board meeting.
