Eight students from Nixa High School will be representing the school at an international competition after receiving statewide honors at the DECA State Career Development Conference.
The school will now be represented at the International Career Development Conference in Orlando, Florida between April 27th to 30th. The competition will involve written examinations or reports and an interactive activity with industry professionals serving as judges.
The students receiving state honors and competing at the international conference are:
- Skyla Chitwood and Natasha Zolner received 1st place for Sports and Entertainment Marketing Team Decision Making
- Sophia Jackson and Michael Meads received 1st place for Travel and Tourism Team Decision Making
- Morgan Ansley and Taylor Steele received 4th place for Integrated Marketing Campaign – Product
- Mark Meads and Carson Young received 4th place for Business Law and Ethics Team Decision Making
The school also received the Community Service Campaign Award.
