Rated SGF Film Festival Begins Today

Springfield’s Rated SGF film festival opens today in downtown Springfield’s Fox Theatre.

The two day festival will feature a group of short films along with two feature length films: “Bisbee ’17” and “American Animals.”

The festival will feature a number of celebrity guests, including Warren Lipka, one of the thieves that are the subject of the “American Animals” film.

Friday’s lineup:

3 p.m. : Music Video Workshop with Brook Linder

4:30 p.m. : How to make a scary movie from scratch workshop hosted by Kevin Rothlisberger

6 p.m. : Rated SGF Pre-Party featuring music from Jim J X

7 p.m. : Screening of short films “Loom”, “Dust”, “The Last Seance”

Saturday’s lineup:

11 a.m. : Screening of “Period. End of Sentence.”

2 p.m. : Screening of “Bisbee ’17”

Music from Joe Dillstrom between events

7 p.m. : Screening of “American Animals”

After film: Live music from Mood Ring Circus

10 p.m. : After Party at Hotel Vandivort
