Missouri State is set for the first home beach volleyball tournament in school history this weekend, welcoming Missouri Baptist, Ottawa and Park to town for the MSU Beach Invitational. The six-match, two-day event takes place March 22 and 23 at the Betty & Bobby Allison Sand Volleyball Courts on the MSU campus.
Admission is free, and Boomer Bear bobbleheads will be given away at Friday’s 4 p.m. match with Park.

Missouri State is 6-8 on the season after posting a 6-4 record during last week’s trip to California…Six of MSU’s eight losses have been to teams ranked 19th or higher in the AVCA Top 20 poll… Sydney LeMay and Sam Brinkmann tied a school record with five consecutive victories from March 2-March 13…That pair joins Kylee Davis/Kelsey Larsen and Sarah Demmer/Bentley Mara for the team lead with seven victories…Brinkmann and Demmer are tied for MSU’s career lead with 16 victories in two seasons…The Bears own a 10-4 record in the fourth flight this season with five different pairs…Missouri State won the only previous home match in program history, 5-0 over Ottawa last season.
