Drury Hosts NCAA Division-II Women’s Midwest Regional Starting Friday

Drury University is hosting eight of the best women’s basketball teams in the country this weekend for the NCAA Division-II Women’s Midwest Regional.

The regional features four teams that are ranked in the NCAA Division-II Top 25 and three in the top 10 (Drury, Ashland, Grand Valley State.)

It’s the 16th national tournament appearance for Drury. The women’s program has only not made the tournament three times in its history. Drury is 26-15 all time in the tournament and was the national runner up in 2004.

The games for the first round on Friday are:

(3) Grand Valley State vs. (6) Truman State, Noon

(2) Lewis vs. (7) Walsh, 2:30 p.m.

(1) Drury vs. (8) Kentucky Wesleyan, 6 p.m.

(4) Ashland vs. (5) Northern Michigan, 8:30 p.m.

The two semi-final matchups will take place Saturday at 5 and 7:30 p.m. and the championship match will be Monday at 7 p.m..

All games are at the O’Reilly Family Event Center.
