Things are about to get very moist around the Landers Theatre beginning March 21.
The Springfield Little Theatre will be producing a production of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid, Jr.” with a cast made up of 80 actors all under the age 18 or under.
“We are thrilled to bring the magic of Disney’s The Little Mermaid to audiences over the next few weeks,” director/choreographer Josh Inmon stated in a press release. “Our cast of 80+ has been hard at work to make sure you get everything you expect from the beloved film and a lot more surprises!”
The Little Mermaid, Jr. is similar in story to the Disney movie with additional songs that are not in the film.
The show runs from March 21st through April 7th and tickets are available through the Springfield Little Theatre website. Tickets cost between $16 and $27.
SLT will also feature “pre-performance parties” where kids who are attending the shows on March 29th and 30th will be able to meet and take photos with Ariel and her friends, win prizes and enjoy “human stuff.” There is an additional cost for the parties of $15 for the first child and $10 for each additional child.
The Springfield Little Theatre is also continuing their Next Stage campaign to raise $5 million for the renovation of the Landers Theatre and the purchase of a new education facility. More information on the campaign can be found on the SLT website.
