Man Shot in Cell Phone Argument Dies

A Springfield man shot on February 21st after an argument over a cell phone has died at a Springfield area hospital.

Jamie Carroll, 45, required immediate surgery from a gunshot wound to the pelvis. Carroll remained in intensive care since his arrival at the hospital and he died from his injuries March 6.

Keeton Waring (photo above), 31, of Springfield, has been in the Greene County Jail on $250,000 bond facing a charge of first-degree assault. Detectives will now present the Greene County Prosecutor’s office with charges of second-degree murder.

Waring has an extensive criminal record.
