Birthplace of Route 66 Festival Announced

The 2019 Birthplace of Route 66 Festival is taking place in downtown Springfield on August 9th and 10th.

The event was announced today during a press conference at the Discovery Center, located near the actual birthplace of the “mother road.”

The Festival will feature a parade, a car show, Motorcycle Village, Vendor Village, 6.6K Run/3.3K Walk, and multiple live music acts.

The 1929 Ford Model A was restored entirely by car enthusiasts in the Ozarks.

The Mother Roadster Foundation is also hosting a fundraising raffle during the event with a prize of a fully restored 1929 Ford Model A. All the proceeds of the raffle will benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children. Last year the group raised $40,000 for the Hospitals through a raffle for a 1932 Ford Roadster.

There will be a music stage on Park Central Square that will feature a variety of Branson performers. Attorney Aaron Sachs is sponsoring a second musical stage featuring a variety of regional music artists:

  • Lyal Strickland
  • Mark Chapman
  • Blue Plate Special
  • Makenna & Brock
  • Laura Ashley
  • Rosy Hips
  • Machine Gun Symphony
  • The Midterms
  • Dirty Saints
  • Papa Green Shoes

The Aaron Sachs stage will be south of Jefferson Avenue and Park Central East.
