Drury freshman Daisy Dudek was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week for her performance during the week of Feb. 25-March 3.
Dudek went 3-0 with a 0.00 earned run average in three appearances. The Pinckneyville, Illinois native pitched 12 innings, all in relief, and allowed no runs, five hits, and one walk with seven strikeouts. She also held held opponents to a .125 batting average in three games. Dudek got the win in both halves of last Tuesday’s doubleheader against Missouri Western State, then picked up a win on Friday over Southwest Baptist going 5.2 innings giving up three hits and no walks while recording four strikeouts.
She is 5-1 with a 0.86 ERA so far this season and is the first Drury player to win the award since Shelby Weissenbach in 2015.
The Panthers have won six straight, are 11-4 on the season, and to action on Saturday when they take on Hillsdale and Slippery Rock in Clermont, Florida.
