The Child Support Division will be at the Greene County Justice Center on Friday, February 22nd from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for anyone who is struggling with child support issues.
They will be working with those who might need assistance filing, modifying or enforcing a child support order.
All services are at no cost to those who need them.
Available services can include arranging for a paternity test; enforcement of orders through withholding income or intercepting federal and state tax returns; ordering employers to enroll children in health care plans; reporting non-custodial parents who owe past support to credit bureaus; filing liens against personal and/or real property; intercepting lottery winnings; or suspending licenses.
They can also ask the prosecuting attorney to file civil contempt or criminal non-support charges.
“The Family Justice Center’s purpose is to provide a place of hope and healing for victims by providing comprehensive wrap around services without the confusion of attempting to navigate a complicated system on their own,” Project Coordinator Jamie Willis of the Family Justice Center told OI. “This allows them to transition from a victim of abuse to a survivor.”
Anyone who may need services should make an appointment by calling the Family Justice Center at 417-799-1500.
