The Springfield-Greene County Health Department reported another increase in flu for the week of February 15, 2019 with 744 lab-confirmed flu cases.
The Health Department is encouraging Greene County residents to get a flu shot if they haven’t yet received one this winter. Uninsured, underinsured adults and children can obtain a flu shot at the Health Department.
The flu shot is encouraged for anyone over 6 months old.
The Health Department also suggests if you are sick to stay home until your fever has been gone for 24 hours without taking any medication to reduce the fever. If you feel sick, consider using telemedicine options to avoid potentially exposing others to the flu.
