Nixa Volleyball Coach Named State Assistant Coach of the Year

Nixa’s assistant volleyball coach, Dani Mostrom, has been named the State Assistant Coach of the Year for Class 4 in Missouri.

The award from the Missouri High School Volleyball Coaches Association will be handed out March 15th at an awards ceremony in Columbia.

“I am incredibly honored and humbled to receive this award from MHSVCA,” Mostrom said in a statement to OI.  “The recognition is not just an individual achievement, but an extension of the Nixa coaching staff, administration, and players. I have a tremendous love for this program, and these players, and I am motivated to continue to reach new milestones.”

The MHSVCA works to improve the quality of high school volleyball in Missouri through programs that develop players, coaches and programs.

Nixa Volleyball Head Coach Annie Zimmerman had strong praise for her assistant coach.

“”I feel very fortunate to have Coach Mostrom as a part of our volleyball coaching staff,” Zimmerman told OI.  “She has tremendous knowledge of the game which allows her to train all positions and skill levels effectively.  I also love the positive energy she brings to our gym and her desire to challenge our players day in day out.  Excited to see her receive this well deserved honor.”
