The Springfield-Greene County Park Board has announced they will be hiring for around 400 temporary and seasonal jobs to run this summer.
A job fair will take place to fill these positions on Tuesday, February 19, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Jordan Valley Ice Park, 635 East Trafficway in Springfield.
Supervisors will be on hand to discuss the available positions and job requirements. A Missouri Job Center mobile unit will be there for applications.

“The Park Board offers great opportunities for a first job, as well as great hands-on experience for anyone interested in a career in sports and recreation,” Anne-Mary McGrath, Superintendent of Recreation, said in a statement. “Many of our full-time staff started out as summer seasonal employees. But it’s not just for first-time job seekers — we have opportunities for all ages, anyone who has availability during the summer.”
The jobs range from cashiers to skilled drivers & maintenance staff. The hours range from a full 40 hour week to as little as 10 hours a week. Most of the jobs will be from April through September.
The jobs are opportunities for teens to learn work habits with some positions like cashiers and concessions clerks with a minimum age of 14. Lifeguards can be as young as age 15 (with lifeguard certification.)
Positions include but are not limited to: lifeguards; child care for summer day camps and before- and after-school (SPARC) programs; concessions and cashiers staff at pools, sports complexes and special events; maintenance staff at golf courses, ball fields, and pools; bus drivers, front desk customer service; gym and family center monitors and; Springfield Lasers staff at Cooper Tennis Complex.
