Greene County Clerk Shane Schoeller has released sample ballots for the April 4, 2019 election and announced the start of absentee voting for Tuesday, February 19, 2019.
Absentee ballots may be cast in the clerk’s office inside the Greene County Archives/Election Center at 1126 North Boonville Avenue in Springfield between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday until the day before the election.
Voters who are unable to physically come to the voting location or who will be out of town on election day may also request a ballot by mail, either with a handwritten request or from a form that’s available on the County Clerk’s website.
Requests for mail-in ballots is Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 5 p.m., the second Wednesday prior to the election. This is due to a change in state law which moved the date back from the Wednesday prior to the election.
Mailed ballots must be notarized, returned in the mail and in the County Clerk’s office by 7 p.m. on election day.
