Ozark Teachers of the Year Named

The Teachers of the Year were named Saturday night for the Ozark School District by the Finley River Community Foundation.

Randi Jo Miller, a 5th grade math teacher at Ozark North Elementary, received the Helen Hawkins Award as Elementary Teacher of the Year. Miller has 12 years experience as a teacher, nine with the Ozark School District.

For the upper levels, Dean Ulrich revved his way to the Karen & Dennis Miller Award for Secondary Teacher of the Year. Ulrich, the auto tech instructor at Ozark High School, has spent 17 years in teaching with the last seven in Ozark.

Two other non-teaching awards were also given out at the Ozark Community Awards Banquet.

Becky Barrett was named Support Staff of the Year. Barrett is a custodian at Ozark High School along with being a graduate of Ozark High.

Kristi Broussard, who has volunteered at least one day a week in the Ozark Middle School library for the last five years, was named the Volunteer of the Year.

The Finley River Foundation donated $100 to a charity of each award winner’s choice.
