Drury forward Hailey Diestelkamp was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week following her performance in two wins for the top-ranked Lady Panthers for the week of Jan. 28-Feb. 3. The pair of victories helped keep Drury’s record perfect at 21-0 and 11-0 in the Great Lakes Valley conference.
Diestelkamp averaged 22.5 points, 9 rebounds, and 1.5 steals last week and the junior from Owensville, Missouri shot 58 percent from the field in the two games going 19 for 33. She scored 22 points with seven rebounds and three steals in 23 minutes of playing time against Quincy on Thursday and followed that with a 23-point, 11-rebound performance on Saturday against Truman State. Saturday’s effort was her ninth double-double this season and was the fourth straight game Diestelkamp has scored at least 22 points.
The award is Diestelkamp’s fourth GLVC Player of the Week honor this year, and it is the fifth time a Lady Panther has been selected. Diestelkamp previously won the award on Nov. 19, Dec. 10, and Jan. 14, while Paige Robinson took the honor on Dec. 3. Earlier this year, Diestelkamp was also named the NCAA-II Player of the Week this season on Jan. 15.
