Branson Police Identify Pedestrian Killed at Branson Landing

Branson police have announced the wife of a Missouri State Highway Patrol major crash investigator was killed in a Saturday night accident at Branson Landing.

Police say Gregory T. Curnes, Laura A. Curnes, and Jean L. Moncrief tried to cross Branson Landing Boulevard around 8 p.m. inside a marked crosswalk when they were struck by a 1999 Ford pickup driven by Steven Weter of Hollister.

The trio were transported by ground ambulance to Springfield with what was initially believed to be non-life threatening injuries. Laura Curnes later died from injuries due to the crash.

Weter immediately stopped at the scene and waited for police to arrive. The Branson PD says they have not determined the cause for the crash and are asking any witnesses to contact Sgt. Stan Kauffman at 417-334-3300 or email skauffman@bransonmo.gov.
