Gordon Kinne, the president and founder of Med-Pay, Inc., was named the 2019 Springfieldian at the Chamber of Commerce’s annual meeting and 100th anniversary celebration.
The Chamber’s Springfieldian award is given each year to an individual known for outstanding community service, excellence in their faith and a dedication to improving the quality of life for Springfield residents.
“Very humbling,” Kinne told OI.
Kinne has a strong connection with Missouri State, serving as chair of the MSU Foundation’s Board of Trustees. He is a past president of the MSU Alumni Association and past co-chairman of the Bears Fund. He’s a passionate supporter of Bears athletics.
Kinne is also a supporter of many local charities. He has worked with the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame, the Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks, Lake Country Soccer and the Council of Churches of the Ozarks in addition to multiple other charities he financially supports.
“This year’s honoree helped make Springfield what it is today,” longtime friend and Springfield business leader Sally Hargis said in a Chamber press release. “One word that comes to mind when I think of Gordon is integrity, and I rely on him for honest advice.”
