Drury’s Allison Weber has been named the PNC Great Lakes Valley Conference Athlete of the Week for women’s swimming & and diving following her performance last week.
Weber, a freshman from Marshall, Missouri, won the 1,000 Free and the 500 Free in last week’s ‘Duel in the Pool’ against Missouri State. Weber won the 1,000 Free by nearly 16 seconds posting a time of 10:04.31 and the mark is now the fifth-fastest recorded time in Division II so far this season. She then won the 500 Free with a time of 4:59.48. Both wins picked up critical points for the Panthers in Drury’s 136-105 win over Missouri State in last Thursday’s dual.
Weber is the second Drury women’s swimmer to receive league honors this season. Yasmin Preusse was named the Athlete of the Week in women’s swimming & diving on Nov. 7.
The Drury women’s swim team is ranked second in NCAA-II and returns to the pool Feb. 6-9 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference championship in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
