A woman who was one of eight people shot at a party on West College street just before Christmas has died as a result of her injuries.
Springfield police say 42-year-old Delmarie Bailey of West Memphis, Arkansas arrived at the hospital in need of immediate surgery and stayed in critical condition until her death today.
Bailey’s injuries took place when gunfire broke out at a party in the early morning of December 23, 2018 at 1042 W. College Street in Springfield. Police found Bailey and one other victim with gunshot wounds and applied life-saving measures until ambulance personnel could get them to a hospital.
Other victims of the shooting then appeared over the next few hours at Mercy and Cox Hospitals, transported by private vehicle.
