The 6th annual Hillcrest High School Oral Interpretation Festival will be taking place at the school on Saturday, February 16, 2019. The event will feature some of the best high school speech & drama students in the area competing in a variety of events.
The first round of individual events begins at 9 a.m. and the finals are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m..
“Our festival has gained a strong reputation for being well-run, exciting and rewarding for the nearly 300 students who come to compete each year. Schools as close as Clever, Strafford & Sparta enter our competition as well as schools near the St. Louis area Like Pacific HS”, Mark Gideon, HHS speech and drama teacher and director of the day-long event, stated in a press release.
The students can choose to perform in prose or poetry reading, duet acting, radio speaking, storytelling, dramatic or humorous interpretation, and original oratory.
The event is in need of judges for the various categories. If you need more information or would be willing to volunteer your time to help as a judge for the event, contact Mark Gideon at Hillcrest High School at firstname.lastname@example.org.
