Evangel Women Lose in Double OT

Evangel dropped a 2OT heartbreaker on the road at Missouri Valley Thursday night, 98-97.

The Crusaders led by as much as 14 points in the fourth quarter but saw that lead slip away as the Vikings clawed their way back to tie the game at 76 at the end of regulation. In the first OT period, again the Crusaders were able to grab a lead only to see the Vikings come back and tie the game at the end of time. In the second OT period, the Vikings started out on the front foot and made the Crusaders chase them. The Crusaders had an opportunity to force a third OT when Bayley Harman went to the free throw line, down two, with two seconds remaining. However, she missed one of her free throws and the game ended.

The Crusaders shot 43% from the field, which is their best shooting percentage in a while. They also shot 42% from behind the 3-pt line.

Lexie Vaught had a double-double on the night with 26 points and 10 rebounds. She also 5 assists. Bri Vogts and Kylee Moore were also in double figures with 17 and 12 points respectively.
