If you’re hoping to get a booth to be a part of Artsfest 2019, you have until Tuesday to get your application returned to the Springfield Regional Arts Council.
Artsfest, the largest fine arts festival in Southwest Missouri, will take place on Saturday May 5th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday May 6th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m..
The 2019 edition of Artsfest is expected to have over 130 artists from across the U.S., multiple types of food vendors and opportunities for kids to gain hands-on experience with different styles of art.
The jury fee for a booth is $30 and all applicants will be required to submit 5 images with their application (including one required shot of their booth.) A limit of three applications can be made for Artsfest. The booths will be 10 feet by 10 feet and carry a $225 booth fee.
Cash awards will be given out including a $1,000 prize for best of show.
Up to 130 artists will be accepted with a list of 15-20 alternates.
According to the submission page for Artsfest, the jury will be considering:
- Overall Presentation: The body of work should be cohesive and show an identity of design. The display should be professional, inviting and complementary to the work
- Craftsmanship: Work should be well-conceived and expertly executed
- Originality: All work must be the original work of the artist. It should convey the individuality of the artist and exhibit visual distinction
It’s also a requirement that all artists be present for the festival. No agents, representatives or dealers will be permitted and the festival may check photo IDs.
