If you’re wanting to finally kick the habit, CoxHealth wants to help.
CoxHealth is offering a series of stop smoking classes over a four-week period that will help people overcome their desires to smoke. The class topics include a step-by-step process to beat the addiction, facts about smoking, why it’s difficult to quit and the potential benefits from stopping.
“Stopping smoking is one of the most difficult things people can do, and we want to help make that an easier transition for them,” Glenda Miller, project manager with CoxHealth’s Center for Health Improvement, stated in a press release. “Over the class sessions, we’ll share a map of sorts to help people quit. It’s not easy, but it’s always worth it in the end.”
The program has shown a 77% success rate in helping people quit smoking.
The class costs $96, although CoxHealth says that may be covered by insurance. The first class is January 9, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. in CoxHealth’s Center for Health Improvement, 960 E. Walnut Lawn in Springfield.
