Two people are behind bars facing charges connected to breaking into offices in the Cox Medical Tower on Christmas morning including the Greene County Prosecutor’s Offices.
Bridgette Ayala, 26, and Brian Watkins, 46, are facing charges of second-degree burglary after entering Cox Medical Tower around 3 a.m. on Christmas morning and entering offices on the second, third, fifth and sixth floors.
Some of the offices entered by the duo were for the Greene County Prosecuting Attorney, Burrell Behavioral Health & Jordan Valley and Cox Health Revenue Integrity.
Police identified the suspects through surveillance video. When an investigator was tipped to the location of Watkins and Ayala, court papers say that “it was obvious Watkins was the male suspect” because he was wearing the same coat and shoes seen in the surveillance video.
Both Ayala and Watkins admitted to police they were involved in the burglary.
Both remain in the Greene County Jail.
The charges carry sentences of up to seven years if convicted.
