The Hearts Aglow 2018 concert raised thousands of dollars for single mothers in the Branson area Saturday at the Clay Cooper Theatre.
The show, headlined by Dominic Haygood, featured teams of dancers from Dance Branson and an appearance by Haygood’s award winning harpist sister Catherine.
All of the proceeds of the show benefitted Dominic and Heather Haygood’s charity to help single mothers in the Branson area.
The bulk of the show featured Dominic Haygood playing violin or saxophone to a variety of rock style Christmas classics with backdrops of winter scenes and a light show that Haygood said during the show was put together in only a few days by the theatre’s sound and light crews.
The event also featured an emotional moment when Heather Haygood talked to the audience about her struggles as a single mother before she married Dominic and how her faith in God carried her through that difficult time.
She shared a story about one of her daughters who came to her one day asking for a pink cupcake. At the time, Heather had just given birth to a son and was on maternity leave from her three jobs. She told her daughter that they should stop and pray for God to provide her with that cupcake.
A few hours later, someone came to her house with a meal for her family…and “a dessert of pink cupcakes.”
Heather then encouraged the single mothers and fathers in the crowd to “keep focus on God” and to realize that “even when you’re at your lowest moment you are not alone with God.”
Below are some photos of the event, both of Dance Branson’s pre-show performance and the main Hearts Aglow concert featuring Dominic Haygood.
