Branson Area Charity Wins Tour Charity of the Year

A charity based in Branson West has been named the 2018 Tour Charity of the Year.

CHANCES of Stone County, whose name stands for Community Helping Able Neighborhood Citizens Experience Success, works to help improve the lives of developmentally disabled children and adults.

The group, who was part of the past summer’s Price Cutter Charity Championship, won the award at the Tour annual meetings in Palm Springs, California.

“You have no idea how important these additional monies mean to CHANCES of Stone County,” CHANCES Chairwoman Peggy Ackfeld said in a press release. “There is no way to measure the good that will be brought to our community because PCCC decided to back us as Charity of the Year with We are trying hard to start a day program in our area for those with developmental disabilities. This is a huge endeavor for a small group like ours.”

This year marked the seventh year that CHANCES has been involved with the Price Cutter Charity Championship.
