A Stafford man was killed when struck by a train while walking on the tracks near Kearney Street and Highway 65 in Springfield.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says that 57-year-old Jeff Dade was killed around 4 p.m. when he was struck by the train. The train reportedly blew its whistle but Dade made no attempt to avoid being struck.
The Highway Patrol said there was no crossing signal at the incident site. The Patrol ruled the death an accident.
