The Springfield police department held a “saturation patrol” on Friday looking for impaired drivers.
The “saturation patrol” had extra officers positioned throughout the city looking specifically for drivers who appeared to be impaired or distracted drivers. In four hours, three alcohol-impaired drivers were arrested including one that had an outstanding warrant for DWI.
Two drug arrests were made and one wanted person was captured during the patrol.
Funds for the “saturation patrol” were obtained through a grant from the Missouri Department of Transportation.
